As the fifth largest performing arts center in the U.S., the Portland'5 Centers for the Arts are national leaders in venue management. The five venues, owned by the City of Portland and managed by Metro and the Metropolitan Exposition Recreation Commission, draw over one million patrons to downtown Portland every year.

Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

This 1928 Italian Rococo Revival theater was restored in 1983 with funds given by Harold and Arlene Schnitzer. The concert hall seats 2,776 people and hosts concerts, symphonies, comedy shows, dance performances, films, conferences, and weddings.

Dolores Winningstad Theatre

Named after a 1984 donation by Norman Winningstad, in honor of his wife Dolores, this courtyard-style theater seats 304. The flexible space can be reconfigured in a variety of ways to allow for innovative staging and set design, and is used for concerts, dance, and theatre productions.

Brunish Theatre

With potential for a wide variety of configurations and a capacity of up to 200, the Brunish Theatre is the perfect space for meetings, conferences, dinners, weddings and intimate performances. It was named through a generous donation by Corey Brunish in honor of his mother.

Antoinette Hatfield Hall

The Brunish, Newmark and Winningstad theatres are located within Antoinette Hatfield Hall. Also home to the Portland’5 Box Office and the ArtBar & Bistro, Hatfield Hall contains a beautiful rotunda that hosts art shows, meetings and performances. It is named in honor of Antoinette Hatfield, wife of former U.S. Senator and Oregon governor Mark Hatfield.

Keller Auditorium

Built in 1917, the Keller Auditorium was formerly known as the Civic Auditorium. The largest of the Portland’5 venues, it is the place to see touring Broadway shows, ballet and opera.

Newmark Theatre

Built in 1987, this theater was named in 1997 after a donation by Herb and Jeanne Mittleman Newmark. The 880-seat, Edwardian-style theater provides an intimate theatrical experience- with no seat farther than 65 feet from the stage.

Portland’5 Centers for the Arts biorisk facility accreditation for health and safety

Portland’5 Centers for the Arts leads the performing arts world as one of the first performing arts centers (PAC) to pursue Global Biorisk Advisory Council STAR accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. The program will verify that Portland’5 Centers for the Arts implements best practices to prepare for, respond to and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.

Several Metro programs are partnering with Portland’5 Centers for the Arts and the National Association of Minority Contractors to improve equity in contracting outcomes by identifying potential barriers that preclude or discourage certain contractors and subcontractors from submitting proposals on Metro’s projects.
